Location
Idukki district is renowned for its scenic hills that attract nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts from around the world. It is home to some of the highest peaks in South India and is a perfect destination for trekking, camping, and wildlife watching. Our college is situated in Thookupalam, which is 3.7 km from Ramakkalmedu, a hill station and hamlet in the Idukki district of the Indian state of Kerala. The area is renowned for its panoramic beauty and abundant windmills. Ramakkalmedu towers proudly in the Western Ghats at an elevation of 3,500 ft (1,100 m) above sea level.
The spot has another specialty which makes it Kerala's ‘cradle of wind’ as it is one of the windiest places in Asia. With the landscape, it is the twin statues of the Kuruvan and Kuruvatti couple that is the main attraction here at Ramakkalmedu. Hiking, paragliding, touring and camping are activities to try while here.
Jnias is located about 5 km from Ramakkalmedu on the Kochi- Madurai and Kumily Thekkadi route. Nearby towns are Thookkupalam (5 km), Kattappana(17 km) Kumily(33 km).
