VISUAL COMMUNICATION

Course overview

Ba Visual communication is an undergraduate program designed to help students become professionals in the visual media industry and convey their ideas using visual elements. In this course, students will develop talent in different areas of the arts and communication.

The entire duration of this program is six semesters, i.e., three years. In this period of time, the students will learn fundamental knowledge in media production, including animation (2D and 3D),  video and audio production, storytelling methodology, and drawing. Journalism, advertising, television production, VFX, graphic design, and so on. This realm goes beyond disciplinary borders and introduces some ideas that are significant to the world of design. Students are encouraged to pursue their own interests, with design thinking, problem solving, creativity, and innovation as essential talents.

Objective

  • To help students understand the socio-political dimensions of visual media without diluting it with too much aesthetics.
  • To explore alternative perspectives within visual media in a globalizing context.
  • To sharpen the creative capacities of students to function in various fields in visual media
  • To help students understand the meaningful relationships between art, craft and technology so as to enable them to become globally recognized media professionals

Eligibility

  • Candidates who have scored 45% or above in +2 or equivalent are eligible to apply. (40% marks for Reservation Category)
  • Candidates who have an aesthetic sense of drawing.
